Dr. Anupama Negi was a Paediatric Anaesthesiologist, working at Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences, Indore. She had done Diploma in Anaesthesia from the University of Bombay / Tata Hospital / in 1992, and Diplomate National Board in 1994.

She was a great academician, with numerous publications to her credit, and was a faculty speaker in most of the National Anaesthesia and Paediatric Anaesthesia Conferences, since 1999. She was the clinical secretary of the Indore city branch of Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists for the year 2007 - 2008. During her tenure, Indore city bagged the 'best city branch' award. She was also the organizing secretary of the last National Conference of Paediatric Anaesthesia held in Indore, in February 2011.She was the editor of Nishchetana too - the official newsletter of the Indore City Branch of ISA.

She was diagnosed with breast cancer about 10 years back, but nothing could stop her from continuing her professional or academic work even after that. She had also established Sangini, in February 2007, as a counselling center for Breast Cancer patients. The overwhelming response of the patients motivated the expansion of its horizon in April 2008, as the 'Sangini Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Center'.

Anupama means, "jiski koi upma nahi ho sakta", that is what she was lively, inspiring, encouraging, and helpful to everyone. She was a true fighter and fought her disease with utmost dignity.

We wish her peace in heaven, where there is no more suffering, only heaven's rest and love.
