Dear Members of ISA,

As we enter into our last year of Secretary and Treasurerships we have pleasant feelings of the past two years. We instituted some radical changes into our society. But much more needs to be done.

Firstly the hard copy of the newsletter is done away with and only the soft copy is kept on the website. This has saved the society nearly Rs. 10 Lakhs / year. In addition the problem of returned hard copies of the News Letter (nearly 20%) is done away with.

Subsequently, the introduction of the Online System of Electing new office bearers of the society had a tremendous response. Nearly 40% of the registered electorate participated in the Online Election indicating an increase from a mere 5% the previous years. Some members expressed doubts about the process and approached the courts but the matter is amicably settled in society's favour. We sincerely thank past presidents Dr Anjan Datta (2012) and my teacher at AFMC Brig T Prabhakar VSM (2013) for their unconditional support to me during their terms.

The website is made more user friendly and is being regularly updated. The members search, conference calendar are among the mostly searched items. In order to overcome the lack of communication between the HQ and city branches we have designed a unique method of generating the official email Id's to the President and Secretaries of the City, Metro and State Branches. All official communication is done through these email Id's only.

Go green has been the slogan world wide and ISA is no different. The IJA is available online to members and hard copies are sent to institutional and individual subscribers. This has also reduced the financial burden on ISA. The AGBM has decided to continue with this system till such time that we collect the correct address & update the data-base and improve our financial position. Once this is done by ISA office, we can review & decide on free hard copies for members. Till such time, members who wish to have a hard copy can pay an amount of Rs. 900/- for 6 issues of IJA. The payment may be made directly to the editor(check for details).

I am happy and proud to inform that Dr Muralidhar Joshi Treasurer ISA is elected to the AARS (Asian Australasian Regional Section) Board during the congress held in February at Auckland. He will be representing South Asia at AARS.

The ISA webinars have reached final stages of completion. The Travelling pain school (TPS) and Essential Pain Management (EPM) have become world famous and have found a place in the WFSA& IASP Website, with support from societies across 30 countries.

I request all members to come forward to keep the Flag of ISA high.
